Session I – Designing Your Course A good online course starts with a good plan. Whether you are teaching fully online, hybrid, or HyFlex, this session covers best practices in course design. You’ll learn more about tools in Canvas, options for discussions and group work, and other strategies in designing an online course that works for you and your students.
Session II – Student Engagement Sometimes it feels challenging to build community in an online course. Or you find yourself wondering if students even care about an online course. Our second session in the online teaching series focuses on student engagement and building connections. You’ll learn more effective strategies for class discussions, assignment design, and student support.
Session III – Assessment Options in Online Courses Our final session in the online teaching series focuses on best practices in assignments, projects, quizzes/exams, and other assessment options. You’ll learn about creative assessment options as well as options for proctoring exams and policies related to AI use.
Faculty who attend all three sessions in the Online Teaching Series will earn a Canvas Badge in Online Pedagogy.
