Artist Statement

There is a certain subtlety to American culture that has proven to be ignored time and time again. The age-old dream of freedom that defines much of our country鈥檚 pride has come to show its outdated nature. Many would agree that laws and reform are necessary when considering social order, but what becomes of a group of governed people when hypocrisy and helplessness becomes an expectation? Through my piece, its minimalist nature, anonymity, and the tension it exhibits, I would like to ask who the true culprit is? Who are the victims? When considering the two extremes, it raises the question: are they one in the same?
