About the Conference

The conference will provide for a robust exchange of ideas and information and will include speakers who are experienced in identifying the risks that threaten a community鈥檚 well-being. There will be three thematically defined blocks of activities:

  • Energy Resilience
  • Water Resilience
  • Resilience Collaborations

Each block of activity will include a keynote speaker whose professional experience pivots on issues of resilience, and it will include a moderated panel discussion with industry and governmental participants explaining risks and resilience challenges inherent to economic development as an important driver of local and regional well-being. The blocks of activities culminate with researchers explaining their work and how it can be helpful to local and regional resilience efforts. From profitable resilience goals, to emerging and forward-looking economies, to GIS applications, attendees will be encouraged to explore how research projects can help collaborative partners define and achieve their resilience goals.

Overall, the conference will facilitate the development of collaborations whereby university researchers can support local, regional and even international resilience projects and programs.
